Back in 2001, Bithium started its activity and focused in data communications using the DECT standard. It announced the DPRS/DMAP stack running on National's DECT complete baseband processors (now from Sitel Semiconductor). 

The company has persued activities of licensing of protocol stack libraries, technical support, product development and production of developed products.

Bithium is in 2008 announcing its Freedom DECT-VoIP design and starting its offerings in VoIP and Linux complementing its offerings in cordless technologies.
